www.grand-massif.com Grand Massif, a big ski area The Grand Massif ski area boasts a 265 kms of linked and prepared runs, connecting Flaine with the resorts of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt Fer-à-Cheval. The Cascades piste, a jewel in the crown. Imagine a run 14 kms long, an altitude drop of 1800m down into the village of Sixt Fer à Cheval, wonderful scenery, and never encounter one single ski lift! Start at the top of Les Grandes Platières. From Sixt, a free shuttle bus takes you to the main cable car in Samoëns. 3 “Jamparks” throughout the Grand Massif area are at the disposal of freestylers of all skills and ambitions. More information on www.grand-massif.com Exceptional snow cover The natural snow record at Flaine allows to open over a long period of time and guarantees excellent ski conditions throughout the season. e.g. snow heights in the spring 09/04/04 : 320 cm at 2500 m 19/04/05 : 280 cm at 2500 m 23/03/07 : 310 cm at 2500 m 23/04/08 : 405 cm at 2500 m 218 cannons top up the snow cover on the fragile slopes ensuring the best possible snow conditions throughout the season. Pedestrians The Grandes Platières cable car takes you from 1600 to 2500 m in only 12 minutes. Stepping out of the cabin, a magnificent view over the Mont Blanc will take you aback.
