Musique ŕ Flaine

'Musique in Flaine' came about thanks to the teachers and personalities involved with the 'Bain de Musique', who wanted to set up a top-level music academy devoted to chamber music. .. Tuition is in the hands of the Ysa˙e string quartet.
" The Ysa˙e string quartet was founded in 1984, at a time when its founders were still students of the Conservatoire de Paris. Members are Guillaume Sutre (violon), Luc-Marie Aguera (violon), Miguel da Silva (alto) et Yovan Marchovitch (violoncelle).
In 1988, they become the first French ensemble to win the "Premier Prix du concours du Quatuor ŕ Corde d'Evian". They also initiated a calss dedicated to string quartets atr the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris.
The "quatuor Ysa˙e" have a rich and interesting repertoire including, among others, the entire works for string quartets by Mendelssohn.
Free concerts and lecture are held in the Auditorium.
This academy, whose president is Catherine DELEPELAIRE, is supported by the Scaler Foundation .
