Road conditions

In winter, snow and ice are often found on the mountain roads. To improve road safety, the Haute-Savoie region has implemented rules that make it mandatory for drivers to be equipped with snow chains, snow socks or 4 winter tyres.

The ruling is enforced from November 1^st to March 31^st every year.
This equipment is required for light and commercial vehicles, motorhomes, heavy goods vehicles, and coaches driving through the department. To find out more about the measures that are currently in place, you can check the infographic below.
