Every Wednesday, Pierre Brochant and his friends organize a dinner where each guest has to bring an idiot. Whoever finds the most spectacular one is declared the winner. Tonight, Brochant is thrilled: he is certain he has found a rare gem, a world-class idiot—François Pignon, an accountant at the Ministry of Finance who is passionate about building scale models out of matchsticks. What Brochant does not know is that Pignon has become a master at causing disasters.
