“La Manivelle” is a handcrafted, poetic carousel inspired by the sea and the world of Jules Verne. Whales, seahorses and the Nautilus submarine take children on a journey, all powered by hand using a large participatory crank.

Children are invited to ride a whale or a seahorse, or to board a lifeboat or pilot the Nautilus submarine. Another special feature: it runs without fuel or electricity, only powered by elbow grease. A large crank sets it in motion, and the audience is of course invited to take part.

The carousel is located at Flaine Forum, not far from the Tourist Office.

To get there on foot from Flaine Forêt, take the orange inclined lifts.
